The Warchal String company is the result of two generations of working musicians located in Borinka, Slovakia. In 1960, Bohdan Warchal established the Slovak Chamber Orchestra and under his leadership the orchestra developed and gained worldwide recognition. During his 40 years of directing the orchestra, he produced more than 150 records and CDs. He also taught at several prestigious universities. His son, Bohdan Warchal, Jr., graduated from Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Czech Republic and has been a member and later the concertmaster of the Slovak Chamber Orchestra. Warchal strings came into existence because Bohdan Jr. was unable to find a violin string that satisfied his needs and decided to see if he could produce his own. He pulled together a team of experts and, drawing on two generations of extensive playing experience, he began experimenting. The result is a line of strings
