The History...
Vision strings were originally designed to address the needs of more advanced violinists, including those who excel in both orchestral and chamber group settings. They incorporate the Vision series advanced synthetic “polyaryl” core technology allowing the strings to settle in and stabilize their tuning very quickly. They are also exceptionally easy to play.
VIS100 & VIS101 Vision Solo for Violin
These strings feature a unique internal winding architecture which simultaneously reduces inharmonicity, expands dynamic range, and improves playability. Simply put, they mimic the inconsistencies inherent in gut strings. It’s these inconsistencies that give gut strings their warmth and their expanded dynamic range.
So why two sets...
It’s all about the “D” strings. Because the D tends to influence the overall tone, the Vision Solo sets are available with two different D strings. The VIS100 set comes with an aluminum D string which provides a brighter, crisper overall tone with a more direct response. The VIS101 set comes with the silver D string which gives the violin a warmer tone. Both sets come with a tin-plated steel E (VIS01), with removable ball end, that is perfectly balanced for both sets.
